Here we go!

Writing a blog is going to take some getting used to as I have never been one to journal really, so this may consist of thoughts that don't connect or I may just ramble at times, just hang in with me... but my life is about to completely change by moving to South Sudan so might as well try something new starting now. Here we go!!

As I thought about what I would write for my first blog, I contemplated many different things to talk about, but I kept coming back to that this first blog needs to be dedicated to the One who has called me on this mission and whose mighty name I proclaim, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him I would be nothing. Words cannot describe how thankful I am that He loves me, a horrible disgusting human being, who has done nothing worthy of His love, mercy and compassion. Countless times a day I give into my flesh and steal from His glory. Countless times a day, through my actions, I tell him that I think my way is better than His. Countless times a day I grieve Him and it is as though I am driving those nails through his hands and feet again, but He STILL loves me. I just can't wrap my mind around that, it's amazing. 1 John 4:10 says it so well, "THIS is love: not that we loved God but that HE loved us and sent His son to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins." Wow. Even though I rejected God, He STILL loved me, and loved me so much that He sent Jesus to completely pay for my sins with his precious blood, that I might be reconciled to Him. Think about the rudest, meanest person you've ever met, I know the last thing on my mind is wanting to die for them, let alone even want to be in the same room as them. I feel as though that is how I treat God when over and over again I disobey His commandments, it is like I am just slapping him in the face... but He STILL loves me. I mean really think about it, there is absolutely nothing you can do to earn God's love and nothing you can do to lose it. Yes, you can do what He commands in order to please Him or you can grieve His Spirit, but no matter what he STILL loves you. He has never given up on me and His love will never run dry. Because of this He truly is the only One worthy of all praise, honor and glory. I could ramble on and on and still not find all the words to say... but I will leave you with this picture foretold in the book of Revelation. Just try to imagine how cool this will be, cause however you think of it, it's going to be WAY better ;)
